My name is Carolyn Killian and I am excited to share my story with you! After a career change in 2020, I wrote and published a children's book about a beluga whale named Bea! This book idea has evolved into a Bea Beluga book series with four individual stories centered on Bea's curiosity and adventures. The books focus on confidence, trusting and believing in yourself, the importance of friendship, kindness, compassion, and helping others. Fun fact: all of my characters are named after family, friends and special people in my life!
A little more about me ... as a child I wanted to be a marine biologist! I fell in love with beluga whales the moment i saw them in the early 1990's when my husband and I visited the Mystic Aquarium in CT! Currently, I am a dance studio owner, children's yoga & relaxation instructor, minister's wife, mom to three great kids and one lab named Boomer, volunteer, friend, crafter, marine animal fan, and avid reader. I have found that I love writing children's books and I adore reading them to kids and doing a fun craft. I will be starting book 5 soon, and one of my life’s goals is to write an adult cozy mystery book!
